'Exceeding Expectations'
BES Ltd have recently been awarded the Main Contractor role for the Pharmacy & Quality Control relocation project for Guy’s & St Thomas NHS Trust in London. The contract award comes after a rigorous Pre-Qualification, Tender and selection process that signifies a major leap into the NHS sector.
The scope of works includes a full demolition and strip out of existing fixtures and services on the 13th floor of Guy’s Tower, with co-ordination of works essential to the continuous use of the lower floors.
Construction of the new room layouts is a mixture of specialist cleanroom partition and ceiling systems for the GMP and laboratory areas and traditional stud and board finishes for the office and general staff areas.
Mechanical and process services, including a WFI system, compressed air, chilled water, steam and condensate were fully coordinated into the final designs together with the full electrical installation comprising power, data, fire & security systems and Building Management Systems.
Included within the scope of works are the supply and installation of Trust’s specialist equipment, including validation and commissioning of the equipment and facility.
Having started on site in December 2008, strip out works have been completed and the mechanical services are currently being installed in line with the August 2009 completion date.
