'Exceeding Expectations'
This project included the design, installation and commissioning of new double effect absorption chillers to provide a greatly improved energy efficient method of generating chilled water. Each of the chillers had a cooling capacity of 1.5 MW.
Pumped cooling water flow and return mains from the existing cooling towers were installed together with new run/standby cooling water distribution pumps.
Two primary circulating pumps were also installed along with a secondary pump set to distribute the chilled water to the production building via new 300 diameter chilled water mains.
Due to the critical nature of the work being carried out in the pharmaceutical production building which the chillers served, no disruption to the chilled water supply was possible, and therefore it was not feasible to load test the chillers on site. Consequently each of the chillers were fully load tested within the manufacturer’s production facility in India.
