Health and Safety Advisor

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HSE Advisor to join our Rochdale office. The role will be key in supporting HSE practices and driving a proactive safety culture across the company as a whole. We are looking for someone with an excellent knowledge of current legislation and experience of continually improving Health & Safety on construction sites whilst developing best practices and implementing innovative solutions.    

With many prestigious projects underway and healthy order book with a forecasted turnover of over £90 million this financial year, it is an exciting time to join our business and help to take our HSE practices to the next level.

Office based and reporting to the Site Operations Manager, your primary roles and responsibilities are set out below: -

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support to Construction Projects

  • Assist with writing, reviewing and approval of the CPP
  • Attend Kick Off meetings
  • Attend Clients Project meetings
  • Complete Monthly H&S inspections
  • Complete monthly H&S report
  • Complete safety section of the Project Progress Report
  • Review of High Risk method statements
  • Give guidance & advise on H&S matters
  • Complete the H&S file for the O&M manuals

Support to Design Projects

  • Assist with the Hazard ID process
  • Assist with the PCI production
  • Attend the Safety Design workshops

Safety Management System

  • Review and update procedures & forms
  • Suggest any changes / new procedures that may improve the system
  • Assist with knowledge and implementation inspections of the system on site

General Company Support

  • Production of safety bulletins and distribution
  • Review of Sub-Contractors PQQ’s
  • Completion and submission of CHAS documentation
  • Attend when required Sub–Contractors pre start meetings
  • Compile Health & Safety accident statistics / trend analysis
  • Produce Health & Safety promotional information
  • Maintaining the SHE page on the company Intranet
  • New starter company inductions
  • Management of Occupational Health programme

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Trained to a minimum standard of NEBOSH in Construction
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001
  • Trained in Temporary Works (TWC)
  • IOSH
  • IT Literate
  • Minimum 10 years in the industry
