Revit Coordinators (Rochdale and Macclesfield)

Reporting Line

Based in the Rochdale or Milton Keynes office you will report to a Principal Architect/ Design Lead, your primary roles and responsibilities are set out below:-

General Responsibilities

Although responsible to the design team you will have responsibility for correctly interpreting and representing the design from concept through detailed design. Specific areas of responsibility are therefore primarily to produce detailed design and coordinated drawings. In addition to this you should be aware of how this information can be utilised for safety, health and the environment whilst ensuring that it is produced and distributed in accordance with the company quality assurance system.

Design

In line with our core business, you would have a working knowledge and competence in producing detailed design information for either building services or architectural coordination systems for complex validated facilities, to meet cGMP and ISO 14644 requirements such as:

  • Research and QA / QC laboratories
  • Sensitive research facilities
  • Pilot scale manufacturing
  • Full scale manufacturing
  • Potent processing
  • Sterile manufacturing

You would be expected to work as an integral part of a multi-service design and installation team and be proactive in ensuring effective communication and production of good quality information. As part of this team, you will also play a role in the development of apprentices and junior engineers.

As a CAD operator you shall be fully conversant with the latest version of AutoCAD by Autodesk and must be able to at least demonstrate the ability to use the following:-

  • Model Space/Paper Space
  • Creating Viewports
  • Scaling Viewport
  • Using XREF’s
  • Complying with the companies CAD procedures for drawing standards and production
  • Layer Control
  • Lineweights
  • Blocks and Attributes
  • Plot configuration
  • Presentation Drawings

Although primarily working within 2D the need to work using 3D applications such as Cadduct and 3d studio max is becoming more prevalent. Be fully conversant with Revit by Autodesk and have a good knowledge of family creation and be able to utilise the 3D render process to provide images for clients and sales purposes.

In addition to the AutoCAD you should be IT literate and should be fully conversant with the following programs: - Word, Excel, Outlook and Project. Where required you will also be requested to assist with the following:-

  • Undertake detailed surveys
  • Compile  specifications
  • Preparation of drawings and documentation for statutory submission

The majority of your work will be in the Pharmaceutical, Healthcare and Food and Drink Sectors, providing detailed designs on projects ranging from sensitive research facilities to complex and demanding sterile manufacturing environments.

Safety, Health and the Environment

You will have an excellent knowledge of current legislation, requirements and best practice and all design works should be in compliance.

You would be competent in complying with CDM regulations especially the production of good quality design risk assessments and control measures.

Quality

You will be expected to deliver design information which is clear and of a standard suitable for efficient installation from in house tradesmen and specialist supply chain providers.

You would be expected to work in line with our accredited quality assurance procedures ISO 9001 – 2015

Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum ONC qualified in the relevant sector.
  • Experienced in production of design and co-ordination of turnkey projects including construction, HVAC, mechanical and electrical works.
  • Experienced in the pharmaceutical and healthcare markets is preferred particularly in the construction of laboratories and cleanrooms.
  • Conversant with ISO 9001 quality systems and procedures.
  • Conversant with Autodesk, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Outlook and Project, Revit
  • A knowledge of the CDM regulations.
  • Have a least five years experience of working in practice with an eye to provide unique solutions.
  • Have a customer focus with the ability to generate quality presentable designs.
  • Able to lead work as part of a team delivering a fully co-ordinated / integrated solution.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the Company’s ISO9001 Quality System and safety management system
  • Able to meet the requirements of BES competency profile for Revit Coordinator.
