Manufacturing Facility Completion
BES have recently completed a full turnkey project for a leading provider of renal products and services. We carried out the design, construction, commissioning and validation of a new Grade B Cleanroom and the refurbishment of existing corridors and manufacturing suites used for the production of intravenous therapies.
Throughout the construction phase the busy distribution warehouse surrounding the facility remained fully operational, therefore a major project consideration was to ensure zero disruptions to on going client's services. To achieve this, the close coordination with the users was required, along with careful planning and phasing of all construction activities. Our dedicated team worked in the existing operational areas during series of pre-planned weekend shutdowns to ensure the facility was successfully completed within finite timescales.
As part of upgrades, BES installed new heating and cooling and HVAC systems with active pressure control. The cleanroom was constructed using insulated metal faced panels to match the existing suite. We also reconfigured the technical areas and material airlocks to provide new change facilities and to improve material flow. The remodelled areas had new PVC wall finishes, floor and ceiling coverings and were fitted out with bespoke stainless steel furniture and fittings. A new LV distribution system was installed together with small power, HVAC power and controls and a dedicated UPS system to support critical supplies in the event of power failure.
Within the final stage of the project, we have provided a comprehensive suite of validation documentation including production of protocols, together with the carrying out the supporting OQ tests executing DQ and IQ.
