BES completed a state-of-the-art modular Quality Control (QC) Laboratory in southwest England for a global leader in over-the-counter health and wellness products.
Delivering a state-of-the-art modular Quality Control laboratory in southwest England posed significant challenges. The project required construction on a tightly constrained footprint within a live operational site, adjacent to the client’s main delivery route. The need for vibration-free conditions for sensitive equipment and unexpected site conditions, such as a gas main affecting drainage plans, added complexity. Ensuring minimal disruption and maintaining rigorous compliance standards were critical.
BES successfully completed 1,100 sqm single-storey facility laboratory using 29 prefabricated modular units, enabling rapid delivery with minimal disruption. A just-in-time delivery strategy and bespoke engineering solutions, including isolated concrete pads, ensured vibration-free conditions. Collaborating with expert consultants, BES addressed drainage challenges by creating a swale for effective water management. The project prioritised sustainability with high-performance insulation, energy-efficient systems, and biodiversity enhancements, all while maintaining excellent health and safety standards
