These annual awards recognise apprentices and employers within the building services industry who have demonstrated outstanding achievements.

We were over the moon to receive the accolade of Specialist Contractor of the Year (turnover over £25m) at the prestigious Construction News Specialists Awards following a sparkling ceremony in London last week.
Twenty years after BES was first established, the company’s start-up team of six have been celebrating the anniversary. All six have an unbroken record of two decades of service, leading a staff that now numbers 180. Established by Steve Marsh, who has recently become executive chairman, along with two co-directors in 2002, BES is an expert in the design and construction of specialist facilities. Sixteen years after joining BES as a 17-year-old building services apprentice, Sean Ferguson has been appointed as the company’s youngest ever director, aged just 33. The company was only four years old itself when Sean, from Oldham, became one of BES’s first apprentices in 2006. Since then, it has grown to a multi-disciplinary team of 180, added a southern office in Milton Keynes and reached a turnover of £100 million.
